I’ve just finished my fifth year on the LGPA Tour with mixed results. I’ve had some highs and some lows, both in terms of scores and finishes, but I really do feel as if my game is heading in the right direction. The short game has definitely improved over the last year and I’m determined to continue working hard on my putting and wedge game over the off season. I can’t wait for next year to begin!
The first few years after leaving Oklahoma State I almost exclusively practiced at Karsten Creek here in Stillwater. This year, however, I’ve spent quite a bit of time at Oak Tree National and I love having a couple of different options for play and practice. Neither place is particularly busy and for the most part I can tee off whenever I want and I have yet to make a tee time at either course. The practice facilities are great at both places and just being able to play a Major Championship course (Oak Tree) is amazing! Some people might wonder why I choose to live in Oklahoma, but if you have ever been to either one of these courses you would have a better understanding of my decision. It’s just impossible to find places like this anywhere else!
I always go home to Sweden over the holidays and that won’t change this year. I love spending time with friends and family and the cold winter days and warm coffee shops Gothenburg and Stockholm have to offer. I believe that taking a few weeks off from “normal” practice can be a good thing and have absolutely nothing against hitting balls into the snow or indoors into a net a few yards away. And it sure makes me appreciate whatever Oklahoma has to offer upon my return to the US!
