I've spent the last few days practicing here in Oklahoma and my game is feeling pretty good! Both Karsten Creek and Oak Tree National are in great shape and I've spent some time at both courses this week. I went to see my coach E.J. Pfister today and he likes what I am doing! As usual, the homework is to work on the top position of the back swing (less across the line) and to attack a bit more at impact (make sure my weight is on the left side). I'm starting to get the hang of things and I hit it really well when I went out on the course after the lesson. I love seeing all the work pay off!!!
The short game is also coming along nicely and I've been spending plenty of time on the practice greens at Karsten Creek as of late. Aim, ball start and speed are the areas I focus on the most and I have quite a few fun drills that help me improve.
I got a nice surprise when I got back from Oak Tree National today! A box from TaylorMade containing two new toys: an exact copy of the putter I'm currently using (see below) and this year's version of the same putter. Scott spent some extra time making sure the bottom of the putters look great - complete with my last name and sporting the Oklahoma State colors (orange and black)! Love it!!!
