I drove just over 750 miles today and here are some picks of what I saw along the way. I started out in the dark at 6 am (was NOT a fan of the time change this morning) and drove all the way to Gallup, New Mexico. I took my time, making plenty of stops along the way. It was actually not that boring and I didn't even start talking to myself! Amazing ;)
Last night I prepared my road trip snacks by peeling and slicing 4 apples and 4 oranges, cutting up 3 bell peppers, making two turkey/spinach wraps, boiling 3 eggs and putting together some trail mix. I thought I'd have plenty of food, but have to say that I'm almost out even before the start of day two of the drive. Oh well, it's not nearly as long

These guys were with me all day. More trucks than cars, no doubt about it!

First came the grass. The yellow grass...

"Charming" picnic area where I had lunch #1

Farms are everywhere in Texas

What century are we in?!?

Swedes will never get used to that sight!

Another "everywhere" thing. Think it pumps water to the cattle, but not sure

After the yellow grass came the beige grass and some bushes

And then the mesas

Followed by the mountains

Albuquerque from lunch spot #2

Never seen this before!

Large!

After the mountains came the COOL mountains

And then cool mountains with a fake lake

Beautiful Gallup, New Mexico. Drove through "Historic Downtown" and it was pretty much all deserted...

I must have picked a popular hotel! That's my car behind the tree. Glad I found a parking spot!
