Today turned into a short, but sweet day of practice. I started the day at noon on the driving range and had a big entourage following me! Watching me warm up were my swing coach E.J. Pfister and his daughter, Jim Hardy (great teacher and amazing person) and his wife and daughter, and my good friend Doug Eibling, who used to be the tournament director for the LPGA event in Tulsa, but now works with the Solheim Cup. They made me feel very important ;) And Jim and E.J. gave me valuable pointers and encouragement during the short session. I am extremely fortunate to be surrounded by such caring people, who also happen do have immense knowledge of the game of golf!!! It is impossible not to feel good when E.J. and Jim are around!!!
My caddy and I made our way over to the chipping area for some work in the heavy rough before heading to the first tee for a quick nine holes. At least that's what we had in mind... We played the first three holes and were on the 4th tee, conveniently located right by the clubhouse, when the horns blew and we were told to leave the course because of approaching storms. So that was it!
I feel ready for the tournament despite missing a few holes during today's practice round. I played all 18 holes on Monday, so I don't have to guess my way around holes 4-9. And Brian has spent many hours walking the course and knows it inside out by now - all I have to do is listen to him and hit some shots. Simple!
I'm off at 12.41 tomorrow on number 10. That's 20.41 Swedish time. And 1.41 Oklahoma time. Just so you know... Can't wait!!!
