I have accomplished a lot during the last couple of days here in Scottsdale! I worked on my wedges and iron play yesterday before heading out to play 18 holes at the Talon Course at Grayhawk. The course was in great shape and I really enjoyed the guys in my group. I hit it really well and made a few nice putts, which I am really excited about! I have yet to make a decision regarding what driver to use - the Nike VR Pro or the MachSpeed. The decision for now is the MachSpeed with a ProjectX shaft, since it seems to stay in the air a bit longer than the VR Pro. I will let you know if this changes in the next few days though...
Today was another great day at the golf course. We got there at 9 and I started off by spending 2 hours on the putting green going through some drills and doing a couple of tests, to see where I stand regarding both lag putting and putts within 5 meters. The chipping green got a few new dents in it too, when I worked on chip shots over a bunker and some more "normal" chips. The practice ended with a session on the range working mostly on wedges, but also on my takeaway, which really affects the position of the club at the top of the backswing. When I take the club back properly I get to a great position at the top, from which I can hit any shot shape. It's amazing how the small details make huge differences in the swing!
It's once again late here in Arizona and it's time for bed. I will post some pictures of my practice tomorrow!
