Karsten Creek, one of the courses I play when in Oklahoma, is hosting the men's NCAA Championships this coming week. The course is in perfect condition and it should be a great week here in Stillwater! I do feel a bit bad for the kids though - the rough is long and juicy and I can imagine some high numbers being posted during the tournament. The last time the NCAA's were played here was during my freshman year and only one player managed to break par... I'm hoping the Oklahoma State guys live up to their potential and make sure the trophy stays here in Stillwater after the event! We do, after all, have the top ranked team in the country and the number 2,3 and 12 ranked individuals... Go Pokes!!!
It's unusual to see ropes around the practice areas at one of my home courses and, to be perfectly honest with you, it is also unusual to see people at Karsten Creek period. Most of the time it's just me and the college kids out there and during the summer I pretty much have the place to myself. Here are some pics of the practice facilities, the course and the tent builders.

The "Team Range" - only current and former OSU golfers are allowed here. Paradise!

18th hole. Too bad the pic doesn't do the rough justice. It's 3.5 inches of juiciness

I don't think I have ever seen anyone over there. Public food tent is going up!

Ropes. At home. Weird...
