Kraft Nabisco!!!

My week in Carlsbad didn't go the way I wanted. Or to be more specific, my round on Thursday did not live up to expectations. I had a really hard time finding the fairways, which is a bad thing when the rough is long, thick and juicy. A shoulder adjustment on the range after the round fixed the problem (I was setting up way open...) and my ball striking was back on Friday. I shot 78-72 to miss the cut by one.....

This week's event is the Kraft Nabisco Championship - our first major of the year! I played my way into the field thanks to my finish in Phoenix and I'm really excited to be here! The Palm Springs area is beautiful and we're getting seriously spoiled at Mission Hills Country Club!
I had quite the uneventful round today - 16 pars, one birdie and one bogey. I was hitting it really well and my putting was a lot better than the stats show. My speed was great and I continuously burned the edges of the holes. I spent some time on the practice green after the round and I hope the putts will fall for me tomorrow!

Karin, this tournament is the first time I've really paid attention to you. And I'm trully impressed! I've been playing golf for 55 years and I've never been tired of the game. Keep smiling and and hitting it square, you're a breath of fresh air on the women's tour and I hope you are holding the trophy tomorrow! Good on ya!

Hey Karin,

Greetings from Portland, Oregon! Good luck today! Mentioned to Kath (wife)that you were in the lead at the Nabisco - so we are pulling hard for you! Not sure if you remember the dinner we had together couple yrs ago in Beaverton with Carin Koch and the Wylders, but at that time, you were struggling a bit with your game. Good to see you've got a really good groove goin'. Keep it up, and let me know if you need a caddy next time you are in Portland! :)

Jen and I were impressed that Gunilla was your swing coach as per JudyR on TV. Everything
Has evolved in your game, I am so impressed with your total package. Keep up the good work.
When Jen finishes school, I have a feeling I will be spending more time in SE.
Keep smiling, Carey

Well young lady, you did good! No matter the finish, you had that smile going the whole round, and I loved it. Keep whacking the crap outta it, and those wins will come in bunches. Good on ya, and I'll keep giving you the "ROOT"! Tom
