The week in LA for the KIA Classic wasn't what I was hoping for. There were, however, a lot of good signs - I was hitting my tee shots really well and my iron play was also good. I couldn't get anything going on or around the greens though, and Swedish National Team coach Patrik put me in a short game boot camp during the weekend. We covered putting and pitching and everything in between. I feel a lot better about my game now then I did a few weeks ago and hope to be able to bring this feeling to the course tomorrow for the start of the Kraft Nabisco Championship!
I'm currently in Palm Springs and it sure is a beautiful place! This week is a little different - the Pro-Am is played Tuesday and Wednesday on the tournament course and one other course here at Mission Hills. I played on the opposite course today with a group of great guys, including Ed Marinaro - a College Football Hall of Fame running back and actor with a huge resume. He was a lot of fun to be around and extremely low key and down to earth - a pleasure to play golf with! But since I didn't get to putt on the "real" tournament greens today I had to spend a lot of time on the practice green after my round and I'm really excited to be in some nice air conditioning now. It was a long and hot day on the golf course...

Hitting my approach on one of the holes on the front side. Notice the snow on top of the mountains!

The practice putting green - my 2nd home this week ;)

Chocolate cookie mountain in the hospitality area!!!
This event is one of my favourite stops on tour! There are sponsor tents everywhere, the food in the hospitality area is great and we even get free courtesy cars for the week! There isn't really anything to complain about. Well, the fairways are a bit too wet, but that's about it... I tee off tomorrow just before 2 pm with one of the amateur invites and can't wait to get started! I played here in 2005 on an exemption when I was still in school at Oklahoma State University so I guess it's fitting that I have to take care of one of the "kids" this year ;)

Oh, how proud I am of this picture!
