I have been home for a few days now and have spent most evenings making Swedish Christmas candy. Regular caramel, chocolate toffee, peppermint toffee and gingerbread cookies take up an entire shelf in the fridge now. I'm pretty sure another batch or two will add to the total in the next few days too... I love this part of Christmas - spending hours in the kitchen, listening to Christmas music and making the entire house smell wonderful! Not to mention having friends and family over to taste it all! Yummy!
I have also spent some time at the gym, which resulted in sore arms and legs. That's probably the point of going there, but it still surprises me every time it happens. Not sure why... But I do know that some sloppy conversion of weights from pounds to kilos on my part played a big role in the tenderness. Oh well, back at it again tomorrow! Sportlife, a big chain of gyms in Sweden, are kind enough to help me out and I get to use all of their facilities free of charge! It's GREAT! Thank you, Sportlife!
And I couldn't stay away from the golf course despite some nasty weather. We actually had some nice sunshine here today and the cold temperatures were not a factor thanks to great heaters in the little bays on the driving range at Delsjö GK. I'm working on mechanics and the drills are a bit redundant, but I can see progress, which makes it all worthwhile! I'm going to try to get to the course early in the next few days and hopefully get the whole place to myself so I can get some music going to lighten up the mood. I always intend to listen to music, but it usually turns into some Swedish radio podcasts from SR.se. Great stuff!
