The first round of the ShopRite LPGA Classic is in the books and it wasn't a good one for me. I didn't play that poorly, but a couple of bad shots cost me in the strong winds this morning. When playing a course like this (almost links style, with waist high grass just off the fairways) every mistake will be costly and it is all about fairways and greens. So that's the plan for tomorrow: steady golf with some birdies to make it interesting!!!
I played in two pro-ams this week - an off-site event at Atlantic City Country Club on Tuesday and the "normal" pro-am at the tournament course yesterday. I had two great groups and can't remember the last time I laughed that much on the golf course. My ball striking yesterday was extremely good - golf felt like an easy game and I could do whatever I wanted with the ball!!! That made today's round even more frustrating... Oh well, I know that a good round is just around the corner!!! Just have to keep on working hard in practice and just let it happen on the course!
