The 4th and final week of my Asian swing has just begun and this week's tournament takes place in Japan. As a professional golfer I'm fortunate enough to see some amazingly beautiful places and this week doesn't disappoint - the view from my hotel room is pretty hard to beat!
My game has been a bit up and down during the past three weeks - I putted great in Malaysia, shot a course record during the first round that helped me to a 13th place finish in Korea and struggled mightily in Taiwan. I wouldn't say that my game was too far off, but that course simply doesn't suit me... I did some good practice on the range this morning and will play 9 holes after the pro-am this afternoon, but other than that I'm having a nice, relaxing day!
I probably enjoy the Asian events more than most players and no, it's not because of the 5 star hotels or the enormous buffets offering food from every corner of the world. It's because of the ping pong tables!!! Yes, I'm a table tennis fanatic! Who doesn't love a game where you only have to move a couple of steps in each direction to cover the entire playing field?!? I came away from Taiwan with an undefeated record and plan to keep that up this week. I'm really not that good, but the others aren't smart enough to keep the ball away from my forehand :)
Another windy day in Taiwan
Can you say "Fire Danger"? I was going to disconnect the bedside lamp so that I could charge my phone. Had to reconsider.....
Taiwanese laundromat. Looks simple enough from afar...
...but a bit more complicated when you get closer
