Almost Off-Season

The final tournament of 2012 ended on Sunday and I have now officially begun the "almost off-season". Almost, because I'm scheduled to go to Carlsbad in early December to try out TaylorMade equipment for next season and I don't want to show up completely out of golf shape. So I'm doing some practicing and working on a few swing changes that my coach EJ Pfister has been talking about for years. Yes, I did say years - it seems like my golf swing always reverts to its old ways during the season, so I have to try to keep it in check during the winter months :)

This year has been a lot of fun!!! My game finally came around and I had some good tournaments and a few great rounds! My ball striking was very consistent and I surprised myself (and probably a lot of other people...) by taking home the GIR title on the LPGA Tour! The short game has improved, but it continues to be my area of focus and I can't wait to see even more progress in my putting and wedge game next year!

I finished 43rd on the money list, which is a huge step up from the past few seasons. I'm already qualified for next year's Kraft Nabisco Championship and US Open and will start the year playing in all of our events in Australia and Asia. Already knowing this helps a ton when it comes to planning for 2013! I will continue to play as many events as I possibly can on the LPGA Tour, but hope to be able to squeeze in the LET event in Sweden as well. Playing at home in front of family and friends would be a lot of fun!

I'm fortunate to be able to play golf for a living and I hope that my love for this game has showed throughout the season!
I will post some photos from the last few events in the next couple of days. Stay tuned!

Karin,
Great Year! Progress not perfection. Got to see the LPGA in person at the CME/Naples. Friday's Round. Enjoyed seeing you fly the bunker on the ninth hole with a THREE wood (I think) and then your patented smile and giggle with your caddie. The CME presented quite a challenge for us in the gallery with those incredible distances between green and next tees. Man!
I admire your acute intelligence and hope you have had the time to learn some history of our wacky USA, particularly the Dust Bowl in Oklahoma. They say "if you wear out a pair of boots in OK, you'll always come back". ;-)
All the best for next year and please be patient with the putting, as you know its a mind game.
